Sources and Short Story

My friends and I are planning to go to Montreal from Ottawa with a black SUV. The trip will take us two weeks because on the way there, were going to be stopping by at places. During the road, most of the time was snowing, so we drove slowly. We all took turns driving. We had lots of fun visiting our friends and going shopping. We shopped at the biggest mall in Montreal called Carrefour Laval, which is located in Laval. My friends and I would all love to do another road trip again. The restaurants and hotels that we ate and stayed at were well served.

Canada Natural Resource

Canada is one of the world’s leading exporters of minerals and mineral products.

Canada continues to be the world’s leader in the production of potash and uranium. It ranks in the top five countries for the production of alumin
um, cadmium, chrysotile, cobalt, gypsum, magnesium, molybdenum, nickel, platinum group metals, salt and zinc.

Canada is one of the largest mining nations in the world, producing more than 60 minerals and metals.

Three quarters of Canadian mineral production is accounted for by Ontario (27%), British Columbia (18%), Saskatchewan (16%) and Quebec (14%). As well, Canada has a mining presence in every province and territory.

Uranium mines use limestone to neutralize the acids used to leach out of rocks. This feasibility study might lead to a joint venture with CAMECO to develop this property, potentially generating up to 300 new jobs. This project is funded by Western Economic Diversification Canada.

Canada Urban Land Use

Cities are dependent on surrounding lands for food and other resources. As urban areas have grown, the populations of the countryside are at rapid rates.

In Canada, over 80% of the population lives in cities or urban areas, one of the highest percentages in the world. Most new immigrants settle in urban areas, making this number likely to grow. Canadian urban issues also include urban regulation and monitoring of land use.

Canadian Culture Literature

During our trip to Rockland, we learned a lot about the Canadian literature. Canadian literature is divided into French and English language speaking, which are rooted in the literary traditions of France and Britain. However, this literature has become distinctly Canadian. Canada’s literature, written in English or French, often reflects the Canadian perspective on nature, life, and Canada’s position in the world. Canadian literature is often categorized by region or province, by the status of the author and by literary period.

Real Restaurants in Montreal

The restaurant that we stopped by to eat was Kanda Sushi. It's located downtown Montreal. Kanda Sushi is a Japanese restaurant that charges from $30-$40. The other restaurant we stopped at was Kam Fung. This restaurant is in Chinatown. It charges from $15-$30.

Real Accommodations in Montreal

In Montreal, there is a Clarion Hotel & Suites located downtown Montreal. The hotel amenities includes the exercise room, sauna, hot tub, French restaurant lounge, and room service is available. The Clarion also offers babysitting, parking, wireless high-speed Internet, free coffee, newspapers, free local calls, safety deposit coin-operated laundry facilities, and laundry service. Staying here per night cost $82.39USD.

Quebec Agriculture

The population in the southern part of Quebec developed in fine soils of the lowlands and the moraine covered by the Appalachian region. The lowlands are used largely for producing grains for dairy industry. Tobacco, was grown on sandy soils in the north of Montreal, vegetables were grown in the area of muck soil of Montreal, and apples were produced on the slopes of the Monteregian Hills. The Gaspé Peninsula and the Canadian Shield region provide limited opportunities for agriculture because the soil is poor and the growing season is too short. The lowlands are used largely for producing grains and for dairy industry.
